Zack Harrison Memorial Music Monday (except it's Sunday, but I am bored - hard to imagine, I know, what with the exciting life I lead.)

I am absolutely exhausted from trying keep up with what the hipsters are listening to these days. I'm taking a week off to buy a new pair of Chucks, get new lenses for my tortoise shell glasses, finish reading Che Guevara's biography, lament my useless degree from my liberal arts college, purchase a new Manhattan Portage bag, invest in PBR, have a sex dream about Chuck Klosterman, practice being ironic, practice meta-irony, listen to NPR, alphabetize my Bukowski books, update my MySpace profile, and go to a dive bar to play trivia. In the meantime, listen to this old shit. Although, this weekend, I totally bought Spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga and Ryan Adams' Easy Tiger and they are definitely living up to their hype.

And did you steal my iPod? Seriously. Every one of those songs is on mine as well. Except for Led Zeppling.

stewpid - i'm such a fucking sucker for all things van morrison. even if every song he's ever written has been in a romantic comedy starring ashley judd, julia roberts and/or sandra bullock.

dmbmeg - sorry for blog idea stealing. but, i'm not sure even you can top the coffee pot adventure. oh, and it's a little known fact that all of my love is actually by led zeppling. good eye.

a deliciously post-hip retro-classic collection of great (post-post-great?) songs. Love the Dire Straits inclusion. KNOPFLER!

I feel like you stole my IPOD too. I was listening to The Band on my way to work. Levon Helm is the man.

there's a super-awesome Levon Helm concert in Nashville this week for anyone who is in or will be in Nashville. I have details on a meet and greet and stuff if you want to go to it.

Bee, I get punched in my solar plexus by the Van song "Wonderful Remark." while there is much greatness in the Van the Man catalog, this one really moves me. It's from the KIng of Comedy soundtrack and I love it resoundingly.

dan - isn't it though? i don't know why i love romeo and juliet so much. i guess i'm a romantic like that.

exile - and levon is a super name!

stewpid - if only. i've got to get myself to more shows, but there aren't a lot of options round these parts.

also, i wish i'd lost my v-card to astral weeks instead of dave matthews. curses.

janis does not get enough play any more. i miss her.

and v-man. astral weeks. jesus. i wish i'd lost my v-card to that instead of the 'dirty dancing' soundtrack. no lie.

ga ga ga ga ga ga ga ga is AWESOME. 'easy tiger' is not.

I was so wrapped up with The Band. I forgot about Chuck Klosterman.....he is dreamy.

kadonk - we all just have impeccable taste, what can i say?

9er - oh yes. spot on.

d - true. bring her back! take another little piece of me heart... stupid faith hill cover. dirty dancing? but hey, at least you lasted a whole soundtrack? also, really? no easy tiger? i'm really into it. spoon is better than expected. but what was i expecting?

exile - dreamy in that pasty, bespectacled, overintellectual kind of way. oh yes. we'd all hit that. and then blog about it.

b - yeah. no easy tiger. and i love me some ryan adams. i just think the whole album is a redux. i guess i just wanted something new. apparently, though, i'm the only one in america who feels this way, so please ignore me.

(p.s. i wish i'd lasted the whole soundtrack. i'd be a porn star now instead of a graphic designer)
