I had kind of a ridiculous Monday. So, this is happening on a Tuesday. I know you're crushed. Or not. Whichever. Ok, so some random songs rumbling around my brain and/or in my iPod:
Prodigal Son - Two Gallants
Dream A Little Dream Of Me - Mama Cass
Two Headed Boy - Neutral Milk Hotel
Myriad Harbour - The New Pornographers *the line about PS1 is so genius, it blows my ungenius mind like every time.
Lebanese Blonde - Thievery Corporation *they've been playing this on NPR after segments about the Middle East. seriously.
Scythian Empires - Andrew Bird
Me Gusta - Manu Chao
Waiting Line - Zero 7
Love Love Love - The Mountain Goats
Ready Or Not, Here I Come - The Delfonics
Winter Windows - Sea Wolf
Kingdom of Doom - The Good, The Bad and The Queen
Girl Talk - Bounce That
Take The Skinheads Bowling - Camper Van Beethoven
Parentheses - The Blow
Let's Get Out Of This Country - Camera Obscura
Your Rocky Spine - Great Lake Swimmers

The Mountain Goats can do no wrong, far as I'm concerned. Have you, by chance, heard his cover of The Pogues' "Dirty Old Town?" I was just listening to it this morning and it was gloomy in a good way.
Also, Camera Obscura and The New Pornographers are awesome.
great list as always...
i LOVE camper van beethoven... david lowery is just so cool.
love manu chau.
and new pornagraphers.
and thievery corporation.
yay, music!
Girl Talk = 10,000 lady boners
I know this has nothing to do with this post, but I must comment on the fact that you have a MANIAC MANSION picture on your MySpace!!
I'm geeking out over here.
c-dog - we should have a radio show together. for reals! let's do a podcast! do you know how to do that? i only know the word.
dre - isn't it great? the only thing that keeps me from plucking my eyes out with a staple remover at work...
julie - i always think of you when i listen to it - usually when i walk my dog. is that weird? don't answer that.
so@24 - oh man, don't even get me started on that game. i devoted much of my elementary/middle school days to that game. aren't you too young to even know what it is?
"we'll" not "will." Or, hell, maybe that *is* what I meant. Who knows? Um, can I go home yet?
yeah! let's do it! i'll take a seminar or something.
this is gonna rock! quietly, thoughtfully, indie-ly.
No way! I also spent a majority of my middle school playing that game.
Tricky part was is that I didn't want Bernard to be on my team. He was a huge nerd. I'd rather have Syd, the cool musician with a yellow tie, a devil-may-care attitude and an "only in the 80s" name.
However, Syd could only play the piano. Bernard was essential. What a rookie I was.
I keep telling you we're twins.
i can't believe you haven't blogged about the big news yet...!
Personally I'd kill to see you and ZFS join forces. Both of you are my favorite blogs.
Sorry, the "anonymous" was me... whoops! Didn't mean to be so mysterious!
blythe and i would both cry if that were to occur, but each for entirely different reasons.
if what were to occur? are you thinking in english?
Mama Cass... really? Hmmmm...
Careful, Blythe. I know almost all of those songs. And I'm old enough to be, like, your (least) favorite uncle or something.
9er - what's wrong with mama cass?
m5k - funny you should mention that. ever since my aunt married this total asshole (well, now it's been about 15 years, jeez) i've kept careful and constantly changing rankings of my uncles. you would have to do some pretty terrible things, like drive a denali, live in a mcmansion, think macaroni grill is the ultimate italian restaurant and make your kids play 5,000 sports to be at the bottom of my list. oh man. i despise him. perhaps it's time for an uncles ranking post.
Does he read your blog? Guess not. Another reason to hate the prick.
gawd, I *love* Zero 7, especially any track with Sia on it.
Speaking of - her new album is phenomenal.
