The Wire, the much acclaimed HBO drama, is slowly sucking what little life I have during this holiday season out of me. If you haven't yet enjoyed, I encourage you to Netflix it and settle in while it's all shitty outside. It's kind of heavy, but sometimes irreverent and most likely always more accurate than we'd like to think. It's gritty in the best way, simultaneously infuriating and heartbreaking. Kind of like Christmas.

I tried to get into The Wire when the first season came out, but for some reason it just didn't do it for me. I really should give it another shot, though; even my parents are down with it.
awesome! i've been needing a new tv show on dvd to get into. i completely forgot about this. it's at the top of my queue. thanks.
Need. To. Proofread. Before. Posting. Otherwise--what happened to the running thing you were doing? Can you just strap on ice skates now?

please, you bought that running line?
$5, Shain. $5.
Best drama in the history of television. Watch it with subtitles. Watch it carefully. It's one of the only shows made for smart people. It doesn't spoon feed. It never panders. It always pays off. Embrace it.
Nice pick, Bee.
but i hate thinking!
Never even heard of it... and I have HBO. Crazy.
I'll have to try this one out when I'm done royally screwing up the rest of my life.
danger will robinson.
Snort.
Hey, you've fixed the header. Much better. Thanks.
Season 4 is the best series I have ever watched. Ever, ever, ever. Including the children in the season 4 storyline did it for me. I really wanted to adopt Dookie or even Randy. I borrowed seasons 1-4 from a friend who gets screeners mailed to him and my dad watched them during the icy weather we had last winter and he was hooked. We are both anxiously awaiting the season premiere on January 6th but sad that it is the last season. Story of my life. . . finally something to look forward to but only for a little while! And why don't more people watch this show?
I know, Shain - but it's not tv. Every hour is like a chapter in a great book. Ah hell, now you're going to say you don't read.
Just watch it. If you don't like it Blythe will give you $5.
Blythe, has it been confirmed that you have a life?
(OK. C'mon, you totally set yourself up for that one.)
(I love you.)
